BLESSED AND BLESSING

14TH ANNIVERSARY HIGHLIGHTS

More than five thousand people from all over Taiwan trooped to the Taipei International Convention Center on 03 August 2008 and participated in the 14th glorious anniversary celebration of the Jesus Is Lord Church in the territory.

“We owe it unto God to bless others as much as we have been blessed by Him. Our blessedness is the Lord’s divine design for Him to show forth His grace through us,” this is the powerful message of Bishop Eddie C. Villanueva, international president and spiritual director of JIL Church, who graced the occasion as the esteemed anniversary guest speaker.

Meanwhile, JIL Church Executive Director, Dr. Dory J. Villanueva, inspired the brethren with her encouraging exhortation on remaining strong in their faith and committed in their service unto the Lord, for the Lord is a faithful rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Signs and Wonders
The event that ran from 10AM until 2PM was marked with various signs and wonders that attested to the Lord’s divine desire to bless His people.

A confirmed account on the instant healing of one of the attendees was reported by the JIL Church Taiwan leadership. According to reports, delegate named Cherry Lin was all set to alight from the bus wherein she was boarded when she lost her footing and fell off the ground. Having lost consciousness, Cherry was reportedly hurriedly brought to the Taipei Medical University Hospital for treatment. The attending physician showed concern when Cherry laid down unconscious for some time. He was worried that she could have sustained serious internal injury due to the bad fall.

Meanwhile, back at the TICC, Bishop Eddie Villanueva was led to pray and release the Holy Spirit’s anointing of healing even before he preached the Word of the LORD. At exactly the same time that he spoke of the LORD’s miraculous healing anointing, Cherry reportedly regained consciousness to the great surprise and amazement of her attending doctor.

Another miracle account was that of Tung Hsu Wei, an old Taiwanese lady who came into the convention center on a wheel chair and left the celebration dancing on her feet … giving thanks and glory unto God who healed her.

Glory, Glory LORD!
When it was premiere Christian stage actor and singer Carlo Orosa’s turn to bring glory unto the LORD, he brought the house down in joyous laughter and merriment with his rendition of the song “Glory, Glory LORD” that he fabulously sang and festively presented in different tongues and cultures.

For their part, the Artists’ Circle opened the program with its powerful depiction of overseas Filipino worker’s aspirations and struggles that often drive them to a personal encounter with the Savior God. It was a poignant presentation for it was from this humble beginning that the JIL Church Taiwan started 14 years ago. Today, the JIL Church Taiwan has a strong congregation of more than 5,000 attendees, with Bible study groups and cell groups in every factory throughout the territory where there are Filipino workers.

The presentation ended with a prophetic gesture wherein the church pastors, representing the 29 churches in Taiwan, encircled a globe as their manifested step of faith as a response to the Great Commission. Children dressed in traditional costume stood side by side with the Pastors to claim the next generation for Jesus.

The Blessing Continues …

“Fresh from the success of our 14th anniversary celebration, we are all the more fired up and excited to do bigger and better things for the LORD. There is no other way to do it: We will live in the center of God’s blessings and favors so that we may continuously be a blessing to all that God sends our way. We are blessed to bless. And the blessing continues…” said Reverend Edgar Valdoria, the ever grateful pastor of the JIL Church Taiwan.

And all said their “AMEN!”

The Reason We Are Blessed
Rev. Edgar T. Valdoria

Over the past 14 years of Christian ministry in Taiwan, we have seen and tasted the goodness of the LORD in all areas of our lives. As a Filipino church, we providentially flourished in God’s keeping … as pilgrims in a foreign land. As Filipino overseas workers, we opportunely thrived in our workplaces … as builders of another society. And we are not shortchanged in this divinely ordained course because we are equally blessed in return, and ultimately enabled to bless our families in the Philippines. Yes, even at this peculiar time of global economic slump, we are blessed to bless our loved ones back home, even bless our beloved nation.

This is the reason why we are blessed at all sides, at all times. So that in our blessedness, we may extend the LORD’s blessings to other people. And this is the very reason why we confess and claim the outpouring of the LORD’s even greater blessings upon us as we celebrate our Church’s14th anniversary. And the blessings we anticipate are divine and delightful

August 03 marks the beginning of another chapter in our ministry. Be at the Taiwan International Convention Center when the LORD breaks forth into a greater fresh release of His Spirit which gives birth to His overflow blessings!

“…it is written: ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him’ ~ but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.’” (1 Corinthians 2:9-10).
